Over 1300 faculty teach honors students through seminars, honors contracts, independent study, thesis work, and creative projects across the spectrum of colleges, schools, and programs at ASU. Among these are the Honors Faculty Fellows, Honors Faculty in Disciplines, and Honors Faculty Advisors.
The
Honors Faculty Fellows
are a special category of honors faculty who are housed in the honors college. They teach freshman seminars and advanced seminars in the honors complex. These 18 range from humanities and fine arts through natural and social science and mathematics. The Barrett Professor and former Dean, Ted Humphrey, also teaches and has his office in the Barrett complex.
The
Honors Faculty Advisors are also a subgroup of honors faculty; they are the professors who not only teach but serve as special advisors and mentors to Barrett students in the 61 departments and schools in which honors students major. These faculty help Barrett students make connections for research, internships, courses, and their thesis or creative project.
The remainder of the
Honors Faculty
offers a range of opportunities from coursework through special projects. Their profiles can be found on the website of their department or school. All are committed to excellence in education and seek to work with the bright, engaged students of Barrett.
